Hand Pencil Drawings

Fictitious PROJECT

I like both of these drawing for their thought-provoking qualities. Both are little twisted, but yet clearly say something - what, is left up to the viewer. The viewer can possibly relate or even guess at what I was feeling or thinking at the time - or just wonder what kind of drugs I was on.

Both have "perspective" aspects. The top is a birds-eye perspective, while the bottom image began from a photo (in the center of the image) and using the perceived lines, extended out to create many other Italy landmarks and ideas. The canal in Venice is represented on the right, and in the center from the photo which is on top of the cathedral in Milan the center lines come out forward almost looking 3D and morphs into a diving board over a pool which morphs again into another Venetian canal image of a gondolier whose oar morphs yet again the river stone into water. My favorite element both in look and enjoyment creating is the exposed brick around the arched windows. And yes, that is a beach ball to the left of the diving board.

The coffee cup shelves is implying something about both individuality and anonymity at the same time in college along with my own idea of being dependent on the caffinated beverage. (My next step is a "Coffee I. V." like hospitals have - don't laugh, patent pending!)
