Home Center Network Experience:
Home Center Network is a Real Estate Show
Which Features 30 Second Listings
Including The Realtor Photo, MLS Area, MLS Number, Price, Phone Number,
1 or 4
Pictures Per House, And Company Logo. Each Listing Included A Custom Voice
Over And Music. A new show is produced each week and airs daily beginning
each Saturday. The show is organized according to the Middle Tennessee
Realtor Multiple Listing Service areas (MLS for Short). Corporate Commercials
Show Between Areas or Groups of Areas.
In July 2001, Home Center Network (HCN)
was launched. I was Assistant Editor,
in the Online Editing Suite at Cummings Video & Film ( the production
facility of HCN ).
As a Graphic Specialist, I created the graphic templates ( SHOWN
ABOVE )
using Photoshop. In mid-August 2001, After a 3 hour "crash-course"
on the
AVID from an experienced AVID Editor and 2 weeks of self-learning,
I Became the soul editor for HCN while continuing as the Graphic
Specialist as well.
Within 3 months, I was promoted to Production Manager, while continuing
as
AVID Editor and Graphic Specialist through June 2002.
As Production Manager of Home Center Network, my duties included:
Maintaining
A Strict Deadline for Orders Received
Meeting
A Weekly Deadline for Delivering Beta Tapes of HCN To Comcast Each Friday
Scheduling
HCN Staff Duties In Order To Meet Editing Deadlines
Working
with Real Estate Agents And Their Staff To Meet Specific Needs
Organizing
the Schedule Grid
A Paper Schedule of each week's show including all information
for on-screen display
for each listing. The Grid was created and edited using
Microsoft Word.
Editing
Graphic Templates - to create stills for each listing:
Editing
Elements To Fit Into Template - Keying/Resizing Logos, Agent Photos,
Property Pictures, etc. Editing Template
Information - Area, MLS #, Price,
Agent Name, Phone #, Website - Maintaining
Accuracy
Creating
JPEG stills for importing into AVID System from Photoshop files
If 1 property picture, 1 still was created, if 4 property
pictures, 4 stills were created.
Maintaining
Database of realtor logos, agent photos, property pictures,
JPEG stills of Listings, and Photoshop Comps
Creating
Graphic Stills for Corporate Commercials as needed.
Import
all stills into AVID Editing System (Media Composer 8000)
Digitize
Listing/Commercial Voice Overs from Beta SP
Match
Stills With Digitized Voice Overs
Maintain
AVID Databases of SHOW Projects, JPEG Stills, Voice Overs,
HCN Elements, and Corporate Commercials
Edit
2-Hour Show Into Half-Hour Blocks
Add
Music Bed To Listings
Layoff
2-Hour Show to 4 Beta SP 30min Tapes

Video Elements of HCN As Needed

Home Center Network reaches over 300,000
households in Middle Tennesse.
This was a driving force for me to make sure all visual aspects were perfect.
As I move on to new ventures I know that I will be looking for positions
that
allow me a similar challenge to have my work presented to a mass audience.
